Integrally Coloured Concrete
Price Indication
Colour
As a guide, the addition of pigment to concrete will add approximately $5 to $15 per m² to the cost of a 25MPa strength, 100mm thick slab. Lighter colours usually cost more as extra pigment is required to overcome the grey cement base.
Due to the rarity of the cobalt metal used, blue pigment adds $80 per m² to the cost of normal concrete. Other influences on price include the size of the job, access to the job site, aggregate selection, geographical location and the choice of surface finish.
Aggregate
As a general guide, the use of decorative aggregate for an exposed or honed finish will add $8 to $16 per m² of concrete.
Grinding/honing
Honing or polishing of concrete adds a further $35 to $50 per m² to the cost of the project.
