PREPARATION

All surfaces to be treated should be structurally sound and all previous coatings, adhesives, efflorescence or laitance should be removed by mechanical grinding or abrasive blast cleaning, high pressure water blasting, mechanical scrubbing or other suitable means. All surfaces should be dry and clean form all dirt, grease, oil, or other surface contaminants.

Holes, non-structural cracks and other surface deformities should be repaired with the CCS Epoxy Repair Kit or ACS Rapid Patch. New concrete floors should be at least 28 days old before applying the CCS Galaxy Flooring System.

APPLICATION

Primer Coat - Apply one coat of CCS Hydro Prime or ACS Barrier Seal in accordance with the Technical Data Sheet.

Base Coat – Apply one coat of CCS Ultra Epoxy High Build or Ultra Epoxy WB (water based)sealer in accordance with the relevant technical data sheet.

Work in sections with the base coat, keeping the size of the working section appropriate to facilitate an even distribution of CCS Decorative Flecks or CCS Stone Grip Flecks.

Immediately after completing the final roller passes, begin broadcasting the fleks onto the wet coating. Distribute by tossing the fleks into the air above the coating. This allows the flecks to drop directly down onto the surface of the coating. Allow to dry for 24 hours.  Once dry, sweep or vacuum up all excess flecks.

Note: Use care when handling the flecks, especially when removed from the box. Rough handling or throwing may break them and create small particles. These small particles will change the appearance of the finish.

Care should be taken to avoid broadcasting a higher concentration of the smaller particles when completing the final sections of the floor. Where more than one batch is used it is recommended that all flecks be mixed thoroughly before application. Coverage is typically 12-15m2 per 5kg box. These coverage rates may change depending on the finish required.

Final Coat – Apply two coats of CCS Armour-thane or CCS Decrathane Semi-Gloss/Satin in accordance with the Technical Data Sheet to obtain a smooth, easy to clean surface.  Please Note:- Dilution of the first coat of CCS Armourthane is not required or recommended.
