Specifier

What is slip resistance?

Slip resistance refers to the texture of a surface and how easy it is for a person to slip when the surface is damp or wet. Typically, a surface that’s highly textured has a high slip resistance, compared to a smooth concrete surface where a person has less grip and can then easily slip.

How can I improve slip resistance?

Depending on the surface, adding slip resistant additives will add texture and improve grip.

What is luminance contrast?

Luminance contrast is the association between the luminance of a brighter area and that of an adjacent darker area. Luminance contrast is often needed on stair treads and entryways.

What sealers can I specify if slipperiness/slip resistance is a concern?

There are many sealer options to assist with slip issues and we recommend getting in contact with us so we can help you find the perfect sealer for your needs. Click here to get in contact.
